A highlight of each year’s Medical Technology Innovation Forum (MTIF) are the presentations by companies who have recently been through the LaunchPad SBDC evaluation process. These companies have been selected from a pool of over 100 applicants and represent a diverse group of life science technologies. These innovative companies have an opportunity to present their products and underlying business models to the entire audience of over 800 attendees. This year, eight companies will be presenting, along with a panel on two success story companies. Since 2010, LaunchPad companies who have presented at MTIF have raised over $650 million in investment.

To conclude the LaunchPad SBDC presentations, JC Ruffalo, will moderate a panel discussion
with two LaunchPad Alumni companies, Recros Medica & Bonti. This panel will cover their journeys as an entrepreneurs.
Recros Medica is developing a new medical aesthetic technology platform (Rotational Fractional Resection) with multiple clinical applications for medical aesthetic physicians. The primary opportunity for this platform is the development of clinical applications for use by Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons & other aesthetic physicians that treat skin laxity and focal aesthetic contour deformities in the submentum (under the chin), upper arms, knees and other areas where visible scarring limits the use of traditional plastic surgery. The company has raised over $10 million in capital funding to continue to expand the company and accelerate its products and clinical development programs. Recros Medica won the MTIF 2017 LaunchPad presentation award.
Bonti is an innovative biotechnology company that is developing and commercializing novel, fast-acting neurotoxin products for aesthetic and therapeutic applications. Bonti raised over $38 million in venture funding and reached a definitive agreement to be acquired by Allergan (NYS: AGN) for $195 million on September 14, 2018.
